PR Racing will celebrate 20 years in the British Superbike paddock in 2021 with a new bike and an expanded rider line-up.
2013 Moto3 British Champion, Joe Francis, sticks with PR Racing for the third season as the team stay with BMW power but upgrade to the new M1000RR for the 2021 Bennetts BSB season. 23-year-old Chester-resident Francis, who finished the 2020 season with two top-10 finishes under his belt, will race alongside Superbike debutant Brad Jones who makes the step-up from British Supersport having finished as runner-up in both the 2019 and 2020 championship.
Francis said: “This will be a fantastic opportunity to build on the consistent development from myself and the team over the last two years. Towards the end of the 2020 season, we really stepped up as we closed the gap and ran with the leading pack. I can’t wait to swing my leg over the new bike and start testing.”
22-year-old Jones from Dorset said: “I’m very excited to get going, I know I have a lot of learning to do but that’s all part of the process. The excitement is really high for 2021 and get my first taste of the Superbike. At this stage of my career, stepping up into Superbikes and benefitting from all of the team’s experience, is a great opportunity for me.”
Team Principal John Jameson concluded: “As we enter our 20th year in the Superbike class, the team are really excited to be bringing another young talent on-board. This announcement completes our 2021 plans with four riders competing in three different classes across the Bennetts British Superbike Championship.”
