BSB2019 BSB Season Finale Preview

It seems almost unbelievable that the season is nearly over, but this weekend is the final round of the 2019 Bennetts British Superbike Championship and it's been a fantastic season.

It's not quite over yet though, with three races this weekend to decide the championship. Can rookie Scott Redding clinch the crown that he has worked so hard for, or will his teammate find some end of season fortune and secure his second British Superbike title?

With Redding leading his Ducati teammate by just 28 points, Brookes a further 37 points ahead of Bridewell and a total of 75 points on offer, mathematically, any one of the top three riders could secure the crown. In reality though, only a major incident would see Bridewell securing the points he needs to overhaul the leaders.

Put simply, if Bridewell were to win all three races, Redding would need to finish no higher than 13th, and Brookes no higher than 5th for the Oxford Ducati rider to take the title.

If we concentrate purely on Redding and Brookes – the maths becomes a little more straight forward. If Brookes were to win each of the three races, Redding needs to finish no lower than third in each race to secure the title (by just one point!).

In case you missed the action from Donington Park last time out, here are the race results.
